dc.description At first we like to thank almighty Allah for the successful completion of this thesis paper. We would like to acknowledge our supervisor Professor Dr. Satya Prasad Majumder for many insightful conversations during the development stage of the thesis paper as well as in the practical data calculations and helping us to complete the thesis paper as a successful one through his great support, guidance and encouragement. We also extent our thanks to our family members who has been extremely supportive throughout the time we had been working on our thesis paper. For financial support we are grateful to our Department of Electrical, Electronics & Communications Engineering of Military Institute of Science & Technology, Mirpur, Dhaka. en_US
dc.description.abstract Wireless communication with multicarrier modulation is very attractive for present and future communication network due to immunity to delay spread and fading. However, such system are sensitive to carrier frequency offset (CFO) due to Doppler Effect in a mobile communication system. Analysis is carried out for a wireless communication system with single carrier (SC) and multi carrier (MC) direct sequence (DS) code division multiple access (CDMA) with CFO to find the expression of signal to interference and noise ratio (SINR) and the bit error rate (BER) with BPSK coherent detection receiver. The results are evaluated in term of SINR and BER for various values of CFO variance, considering Gaussian distribution of CFO. The result shows that there occurs BER floor due to CFO for SC and MC DS-CDMA and there is power penalty at a given BER which is high for MC-DS-CDMA compared to SC-DS-CDMA. It is also observed that increasing the number of subcarriers does not affect much in MC-DS-CDMA which will definitely allow to minimize the delay spread which is one of the vital limitations of wireless communication system. en_US
