In perspective of power consumption in the sector of energy in Bangladesh the central air
conditioning system is a desirable solution nowadays. The purpose of this thesis is to design a
central air conditioning system for Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST)
tower building-2. The suggested design includes cooling load calculation, duct design and the
specification of system components (chiller, air handling unit etc.). The cooling load is
calculated for individual classrooms, laboratories and departmental offices. The selection of
ducting system consists of duct diameter, friction loss, air flow velocity and air flow rate
passing through the ducts. The central air conditioning system will maintain a constant air
temperature desired for human comfort for a defined space. This system can be efficiently
maintained rather than a split or individual one. We are hoping that, this design will be
productive for MIST in case of cost effectiveness and power consumption. |
